Job Description: This is an entry-level position in the Facilities Management department. The position’s work is focused on groundskeeping, and the caregiver may be assigned to work in a variety of areas of focus. The Maintenance Worker II – Grounds may also have opportunities to learn general building maintenance skills in a healthcare setting. Scope: As a Grounds Maintenance Worker, you will need to know how to: Maintain the appearance, condition, and safety of facility grounds, landscaping, parking areas, irrigation systems, and related equipment to meet seasonal needs. Assignments may include planting, fertilizing, clipping, pruning, mowing, blowing, weeding, shoveling snow, plowing, irrigation monitoring, and applying chemical control products. Have basic knowledge in landscape maintenance, including irrigation systems, and the use of insecticides and herbicides on turf, trees, and flowerbeds. Willingness to work hard and to learn. A valid driver license may be required for this position. Maintaining a clean and safe work environment by following established safety procedures and protocols. The ability to work independently and as part of a team. Good communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to follow instructions.
