Job Summary

As a Dietary Aide at Optalis Health & Rehabilitation Centers, you will play a vital role in our residents' nutrition and well-being. You will work closely with our Cooks and Dietary Manager to ensure that the residents' nutritional needs are addressed during meal times. Your responsibilities will include preparing and serving meals, adhering to specialized diets, maintaining cleanliness and sanitation standards, and attending required staff in-services.

Job Duties & Responsibilities

• Assist in daily preparation and service of resident meals, including therapeutic and modified consistency diets.
• Ensure meals are appealing, appetizing, and nutritionally sound.
• Work on tray line or in dining rooms serving meals to residents.
• Assist with food storage according to facility procedures and safe food handling guidelines.
• Maintain sanitation standards as defined by facility policy and procedure in the prep areas of the kitchen and dish room.
• Attend required staff in-services.
• Clean dishes, utensils, and equipment according to sanitation standards.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Ability to think and work independently and with direction, and communicate effectively in a fast-paced and sometimes stressful environment.
• High School graduate or equivalent.
• Current identification.
• Excellent personal hygiene.
• Prior experience in long-term care or commercial restaurant is preferred.
