All materials will be assessed for written communication skills. Job Summary The Michigan Photography Studio Manager reports directly to the Director of Michigan Photography. This position is the air traffic controller of Michigan Photography, as they will work with clients, photographers, and freelancers to ensure assignments are scheduled and equitable. The Studio Manager handles the day-to-day operations of the front office team by assigning tasks, managing workload, and billing. This position manages multiple duties and will need to be detail-oriented and nimble. Why Work at Michigan? Benefits include: Generous time off A retirement plan that provides two-for-one matching contributions with immediate vesting Many choices for comprehensive health insurance Life insurance Long-term disability coverage Flexible spending accounts for healthcare and dependent care expenses Responsibilities* Maintain a clear and equitable photo assignment schedule Be first to respond to client inquiries Transfer approved assignment requests from the internal work order system to Google Calendar Make sure all staff photographers have an equal amount of shooting hours per 40/hour work week Ensure assignments have appropriate travel and setup time Work with the Director to approve overtime of photographers Maintains bi-weekly shot list to ensure staff equity Assign freelance photographers when necessary Manage a list of local freelancers Assist the Director or other clients with searching and hiring national and international freelancers Assist the Director in scheduling large production shoots Manages the finalization and submission of financials at the end of the month Sub billing, external billing, and merchant services Ensure correct results Maintain proper supplies for non-photographer office needs Oversee passport business Train student workers on passport operation Take passport photos when needed; however, the Studio Assistant and student workers are the primary passport photographers. Required Qualifications* Bachelor's degree. Must work M-F 8am-5pm. Occasional after-hours office presence may be required Five years experience in the photography industry and/or the University of Michigan processes In-depth knowledge of Google Suite Modes of Work Positions that are eligible for hybrid or mobile/remote work mode are at the discretion of the hiring department.
