Job Description: HR/Payroll Coordinator


The HR & Payroll Coordinator coordinates efforts with facility management to manage hiring and recruiting.


Responsibilities include:


  • Interviewing and screening qualified candidates.
  • Arranging interview schedules with other staff members as appropriate.
  • Conducting all pre-employment processes, including reference checks, background checks, pre-employment physicals, and drug screens.
  • Making job offers with Administrator approval.
  • Setting up orientation programs for new hires and coordinating with appropriate personnel.
  • Ensuring benefits and company policies are thoroughly reviewed.
  • Following up to ensure employees receive appropriate orientation and scheduling additional training if needed.
  • Assisting Supervisor in planning and holding staff appreciation events and functions.
  • Evaluating new hire's performance prior to the 90th workday and conducting yearly employee evaluations.
  • Planning, organizing, developing, and implementing all payroll functions in accordance with current company policies as well as federal, state, and local regulations and procedures in an accurate, neat, and organized manner.

The HR & Payroll Coordinator is also responsible for AP (Accounts Payable) functions, including organizing, implementing, and maintaining the accounts payable process to ensure accuracy, validity, and timely processing of facility invoices. They monitor accounts payable aging on a monthly basis and inform the Administrator of any potential vendor problems. They also plan for the preparation, review, and submission of financial reports and general financial conditions to management. The HR & Payroll Coordinator develops and maintains rapport with vendors in a courteous manner, accurately accounts for resident's needs accounts, plans for petty cash needs, monitors and maintains an adequate supply of forms, materials, and supplies, and ensures that the workspace is neat and clean.


Qualifications:


  • Completion of secondary education showing the ability to read, perform mathematical calculations, write in a legible manner, and follow oral and written directions in English.
  • Possess computer skills and the ability to work with accounts payable and payroll systems.
  • Attention to detail, good follow-through skills, and ability to prioritize multiple tasks.
  • Patience, tact, and a positive attitude toward employees, residents, family members, state and federal agencies, and other staff.
