LifeQuest Nursing Center in Quakertown, PA is seeking an Assistant Director of Nursing to join our team. As an Assistant Director of Nursing, you will work closely with the Director of Nursing to ensure the smooth functioning of the Nursing Department. Your responsibilities will include planning, organizing, implementing, evaluating, and directing the day-to-day functions of the department, in accordance with current rules, regulations, and guidelines that govern long term care. You will also assist in developing and maintaining policies and procedures, coordinating nursing services with other resident services, and ensuring that nursing service personnel are following their job descriptions.

Requirements:

  • Must possess a current, unencumbered license to practice as a Registered Nurse in Pennsylvania

Responsibilities:

  • Act as the Director of Nursing in the absence of the Director
  • Assist the Director of Nursing in planning, developing, organizing, implementing, evaluating, and directing the day-to-day functions of the Nursing Department
  • Participate in developing, maintaining, and updating written policies and procedures for the nursing department
  • Ensure that the nursing procedures manual is current and reflects the day-to-day nursing care procedures used by the facility
  • Develop methods for coordinating nursing services with other resident services to ensure continuity of care
  • Ensure all nursing service personnel are following their job descriptions
  • Perform administrative duties such as completing medical forms, reports, evaluations, studies, charting, etc.
  • Ensure reference material (e.g. PDRs, Federal and State Regulations) is maintained and up-to-date at all nurses' stations
  • Develop and periodically update nursing service objectives and statements of philosophies
  • Participate in developing, implementing, and periodically updating the facility's performance improvement program for the nursing service department
  • Participate in developing, implementing, and periodically updating the resident's written discharge plan
  • Participate in surveys (inspections) made by authorized government agencies
  • Make written and oral reports/recommendations to the Director as necessary/required regarding the operation of the Nursing Services Department
  • Assist the Director in determining the staffing needs of the nursing department and staff accordingly
  • Delegate administrative authority, responsibility, and accountability to Charge and Staff nurses to perform their assigned duties
  • Assist the Director of Nursing in preparing performance evaluations
  • Conduct daily rounds of the nursing department to ensure nursing personnel are following acceptable standards
  • Review complaints and grievances made or filed by department personnel

Preferred: Experience in infection control

This is a full-time position with a schedule of Monday to Friday. The ability to commute or relocate to Quakertown, PA 18951 is required. The ideal candidate should have at least 1 year of experience as an Assistant Director of Nursing and 1 year of experience in long term care. An RN license is preferred.
