Responsibilities
As an Activities Aide, you will play a vital role in enhancing the quality of life for our residents. Your responsibilities will include:
- Assisting in planning and organizing a variety of activities and programs to meet the recreational, social, and emotional needs of our residents.
- Engaging residents in meaningful activities such as crafts, games, music, exercise classes, and outings.
- Recognizing and responding to the individual needs and interests of residents, ensuring personalized experiences.
- Encouraging and facilitating social interaction among residents, promoting a sense of community and friendship.
- Assisting with the setup and cleanup of activity areas, ensuring a safe and welcoming environment.
- Documenting residents' participation and responses to activities, maintaining accurate records.
- Collaborating with the interdisciplinary team to create and implement individualized activity plans.
- Participating in staff meetings and training sessions to enhance knowledge and skills.
Qualifications
To succeed in this role, you must meet the following qualifications:
- Prior experience working with seniors or in a healthcare setting is preferred.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to connect with residents and build positive relationships.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team, collaborating with colleagues from various disciplines.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks.
- Flexibility to work on weekends and holidays as required.
