UPMC Susquehanna The Green Home is currently seeking a Professional Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) to join our team on a part-time basis working nights.

Purpose:

The Professional CNA will provide routine patient care and support services in accordance with established policies and procedures. They will work under the direction of the nurse or physician to ensure the highest degree of quality patient care is maintained at all times.

Responsibilities:

• Acquire and distribute supplies and equipment to facilitate patient care delivery
• Document in the medical record according to established procedures
• Perform patient care skills as directed by the RN/LPN
• Respond directly to patient requests or communicate patient needs
• Maintain an environment conducive to patient safety and recovery
• Deliver patient nourishments, fill water pitchers, and distribute patient mail
• May apply, monitor, and remove patient restraints at the direction of the RN/LPN
• Transport, transfer, and position patients safely
• Comply with safety policy and procedures including standard precautions
• Assure equipment malfunctions are reported to the appropriate department

Qualifications:

• High school graduate or equivalent preferred
• Knowledge of body mechanics and transfer techniques
• Ability to communicate orally and in writing
• No contact with medications allowed
• CPR certification required within 30 days of hire
• Basic Life Support (BLS) or Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification
• Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA)
• Act 34 OAPSA clearance
