Job Description

Coordinate and administrate various programs within the philosophy, goals, and policy established by the Board

Thorough understanding of school operations, with strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills

Qualifications: Master's degree, Texas assistant principal or appropriate Texas certificate, Certified Professional Development and Appraisal System (PDAS) appraiser, and two years experience as a classroom teacher

Major Duties and Responsibilities

Participate in the development and evaluation of educational programs

Conduct instructional observations and conferences with staff to provide diagnostic and prescriptive feedback for growth and improved performance

Promote the use of technology in teaching/learning process

Attend ARD committee meetings and serve as administrator of record

Promote a positive, caring climate for learning

Participate in the development of campus improvement plans with staff, parents, and community members

Observe employee performance, record observations, and conduct evaluation conferences

Supervise operations in principal's absence

Ensure that students are adequately supervised during noninstructional periods

Participate in professional development to improve skills related to job assignment

Articulate the school's mission to the community and solicit its support

Share supervisory responsibility for professional staff with school principal

Qualifications

Master's degree

Texas assistant principal or other appropriate Texas certificate

Certified Professional Development and Appraisal System (PDAS) appraiser

Thorough understanding of school operations, with strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills

Ability to coordinate campus support operations

Two years experience as a classroom teacher

Working Conditions

Maintain emotional control under stress. Work with frequent interruptions. Frequent bending, stooping, twisting, overhead reaching, keyboarding, walking and reaching. Extensive travel throughout the building and classrooms. Occasional districtwide travel; frequent prolonged and irregular hours.
