GET YOUR SUPERVISED EXPERIENCE TO SIT FOR THE BCBA EXAM (We have BCBAs authorized to provide the necessary supervision the the BACB requires) Maxim Healthcare Services is seeking a Behavioral Health Assistant to service recipients in meeting their personal goals and aspirations through positive behavioral interventions and support, as identified through a behavior evaluation and consequent treatment plan. Responsibilities: Demonstrates support of all outcomes for service recipients supported. (Identity, Autonomy, Affiliation, Attainment, Safeguards, Rights, and Health and Wellness.) In accordance with Individual Care Plans, Behavior Evaluations, and Treatment Plans provide training or assistance to insure personal growth toward behavior goals. Listen to and respond to the needs of service recipients, parents/guardians, area program staff, and agency management. Assist service recipients: With issues such as interpersonal relationships, social interaction, behavioral conduct, and communication skills. To develop and/or maintain a social support network To maintain their health and well being With ensuring a safe and sanitary home, grooming, and hygiene In the development of adaptive and effective coping skills With access to community resources, To realize their educational and vocational goals and help attain personal outcomes. Document all activities in accordance with federal, state, and local requirements. Transport service recipients as needed and clinically indicated. Complete all mandated supervision and training and maintain as required. Communicate in a professional manner with service recipients, employers, parents/guardians, area program staff, and agency staff. Advocate for service recipients in all situations. Abide by all agency policies and procedures. Qualifications: Education: High School Diploma, G.E.D. equivalent required, Bachelor’s level courses in related field, or Bachelor’s degree. Must be 21 years of age or older and have no history of abuse, neglect, or exploitation of children or vulnerable adults. At least one year of documented experience with children, preferably with behavioral, emotional, or learning issues. Commitment to completion of DCBHS BA certification process. All BA’s hired before June 30, 2009 will have until January 31, 2010 to complete the initial certification. Any BA’s hired after June 30, 2009will have 6 months from date of hire to complete the initial certification All BA’s will need to be re-credentialed annually. Reliable transportation (including valid driver’s license, insurance, vehicle registration, and acceptable driving record within company insurance guidelines) is highly preferred so service recipients can be transported if needed. Must complete criminal background and other pre-hire requirements.
