Summary

The Senior Vice President, Credit Administration will report to the Chief Credit Officer and have a lead role in reviewing and approving Commercial Real Estate ("CRE") credits along with other commercial credits. This individual will actively monitor and report on the Bank’s loan portfolio, coordinate credit-related audits and examinations, and provide a resolution of related recommendations.


Responsibilities

Portfolio Management and Underwriting

  • Provide feedback to the deal team on proposed structure and risk appetite for new credit requests.
  • Decision individual credits within granted approval authority.
  • Assist in managing the Bank’s non-performing asset portfolio.

Audits and Examinations

  • Act as a liaison with external auditors, regulators, and the lending units to prepare for scheduled exams.
  • Ensure loan reviews are carried out as planned, address concerns raised by examiners, and address noted areas of risk.
  • Implement solutions to address audit and examination findings, as appropriate.
  • Develop and implement changes to loan policy and procedures as necessitated by various audits and examinations.

Portfolio Monitoring and Reporting

  • Provide monthly and quarterly reporting (as appropriate) on the performance of the bank’s loan portfolio, including, but not limited to, portfolio concentrations, credit quality, past dues, exception tracking, financial statement receipt and covenant compliance.
  • Monitor loan approval as needed to ensure loans are compliant with policy and booked in line with approval conditions.
  • Partner with bankers and portfolio managers to complete annual relationship reviews in conformance with loan policy.
  • Proactively monitor credit risk and exposure for the Bank’s commercial loan portfolio, monitor collateral, oversee covenant monitoring, and initiate changes in risk ratings as appropriate.
  • Work with the Finance team to prepare the quarterly ALLL analysis.
  • Perform periodic CECL based stress testing of the portfolio.

Policy and Product Management

  • Provide primary oversight of the Bank’s Loan Policy including periodic revisions to address changes in regulations, the Bank’s risk appetite, and macro factors.
  • Draft new loan policies as needed for Chief Credit Officer review and Board approval.

Minimum Qualifications

  • 10-15+ years of progressively responsible and relative experience that involves credit analysis and decision.
  • Thorough knowledge of financial statements, accounting standards, and commercial underwriting.
  • Excellent knowledge of loan application procedures and best lending practices according to state laws and regulations.
  • Must be comfortable working with complex computer operating systems (nCino experience preferred).
  • Strong organizational time management skills, problem solving skills, and the ability to quickly grasp concepts and processes with limited guidance from management.
  • Analytical thinking skills to make timely, appropriate decisions and recommendations after reviewing all relevant information.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Must be able to work in a team environment with the ability to interact well, and in a positive manner, with co-workers and management.
