Software Engineering Intern - Summer 2025

Generac is seeking a motivated Software Engineer Intern to join our team focused on factory software and cloud data handling for clean energy systems. As an intern, you will gain hands-on experience in designing and developing software solutions that automate production processes for solar storage products, including lithium-ion battery systems. You will also assist in building and managing cloud-based data platforms to aggregate and process real-time data from various factory operations. This internship is for the Summer of 2025 and is onsite in our Reno NV office. Responsibilities: Assist in the development of factory automation software, including test setups and product quality controls. Support cloud-based data platform development to handle large-scale data flow across the organization. Contribute to real-time data processing for factory performance and product monitoring. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of software solutions. Write clean, scalable code following best practices. Qualifications Pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field. Familiarity with programming languages (e.g., C/C++/Golang ). Basic understanding of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud). Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Eagerness to learn and collaborate in a fast-paced environment. Preferred Skills Experience with industrial automation, IoT, or data handling tools. Knowledge of database systems (SQL, NoSQL).
