Ruchman and Associates, Inc. (RAI) is currently seeking Forensic Accountants (FAs) to support the U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ) Asset Forfeiture Investigative Support Services (AFISS) program. As an AFISS contractor, RAI serves as one of the premier DOJ industry partners to provide DOJ agencies professional investigative, legal, analytical, and technical support services. With RAI's support in this program, DOJ agencies will receive critical support to help advance its mission in the Asset Forfeiture Program (AFP).
FAs perform tasks and services necessary to investigate and analyze all components of the financial infrastructure of criminals including syndicates, their methods of criminal money movements, and the professional money laundering infrastructure facilitating these movements. Performance requires demonstration of intermediate to expert knowledge of complex financial investigations, audits, and or analysis in support of the federal government law enforcement or financial institutions.
FAs may also serve as Cryptocurrency SMEs (CCS), performing Cryptocurrency analysis, Blockchain analytics, Open Internet, including social media, Deep and Dark Web intelligence gathering and analysis, data analytics, and electronic evidence analysis related to cybercrime investigations. The CCS may develop training and certification for the Government on this specialized area, introducing current industry practices in this emerging technology including obtainment of relevant, current training and certification.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Forensic Accounting or related discipline
- At least 4 years’ professional forensic accounting experience
- Demonstrated knowledge of complex financial investigations, audits, and or analysis in support of the federal government law enforcement or financial institutions
- Strong analytical skills with attention to details required to identify discrepancies and inconsistencies, illicit activity indicators, patterns and red flags
- Minimum 2 years of law enforcement experience with planning, conducting, and participating in financial investigations.
- FAs serving as CCS must possess at least five years of experience in computer cryptocurrency analytics.
