Position Description:

The Building Materials Associate is responsible for greeting customers as they come into the store, processing customer transactions at sales counter and for responding to customer needs in the yard.

Work Activities:

• Greet customers as they arrive and provide them with information about products and/or services;
• Accurately and efficiently process customer transactions;
• Proactively respond to customer questions and concerns, providing excellent customer service;
• Stocking and straightening shelves, putting freight away;
• Adhere to company safety standards and procedures.

Qualifications:

• Work effectively with minimal supervision and direction;
• Excellent customer service skills;
• Must enjoy working with the public;
• Physically able to lift 50lbs on a regular basis;
• Strong written and verbal communication skills;
• Punctual and reliable;
• Must be able to work Mon-Fri 4:00 pm to 9:00 pm and 2 Saturdays a month;
• 20 hours a week, up to 40 hours a week.

Physical Requirements:

Physical Work Requirements: exerting up to 50 lbs.
Frequent bending, standing, lifting, and ongoing physical activity.
