Job Summary and Qualifications
As a Charge RN over Surgical Services, you will be responsible for the day-to-day activities of the OR and will assume responsibility for the outcome of nursing care during a specified work period. In this role:
- You will manage multiple cases simultaneously, providing general nursing care and prioritizing needs continually
- You will demonstrate the ability to manage and coordinate patient care, maintain departmental flow, and direct staff assignments as needed
- You will work with the Manager and Director on department staffing, hiring, evaluating, guiding, disciplining, and scheduling of staff
- You will act in a composed and professional manner, especially under pressure
- You will provide follow-up care instructions to patients, make necessary referrals, and maintain accurate and up-to-date patient charts
What qualifications you will need:
- Current licensure in Utah as a Registered Nurse
- Minimum of six (6) months of clinical practice in the clinical specialty of his/her unit
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred
- American Red Cross or American Heart Association Basic Life Support Course (BLS or BCLS) and certification within 30 days of employment
