SUMMARY

The Hotel Concierge/Guest Safety Agent will help provide the guests and employees of the Shoshone Bannock Hotel a safe environment. All Team Members are required, on a continual basis to…

  • Comply with all property and department policies, practices and procedures.
  • Contribute to a safe work environment, through compliance with established safety guidelines, identifying potential safety hazards, and reporting same to the appropriate person for proper resolution.
  • Maintain a professional departmental, company and community reputation.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Will be responsible to perform walking patrols of the hotel property, as well as stand for long periods.
  • Build guest relationships by providing excellent customer service.
  • Professional attitude.
  • Have efficient report writing skills.
  • Have a high degree of judgment.
  • Professional appearance as outlined in the Shoshone-Bannock Gaming/Hotel & Event Center Employee Handbook
  • Must be able to work both independently and dependently as a member of a team.
  • MUST MAINTAIN STRICT CONFIDENTIALITY OF ALL INFORMATION PROCESSED THROUGH THE DEPARTMENT INCLUDING RECORDS, REPORTS, DOCUMENTS, CONVERSATIONS, ETC. A breach of confidentiality will be subject to appropriate disciplinary action, up to and including termination from employment.
  • Responsible for practicing safe work habits in the performance of the job.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSE, AND REGISTRATIONS

Must be able to submit supporting documents of education and training (High School Diploma, GED, Degree and Certificates). Must be able to obtain and maintain a gaming license in good standing according to the licensing rules and regulations. Must be able to obtain and maintain in good standing a Driver’s License and qualify for Fleet Management coverage on company vehicles.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

This position does not possess any supervisory responsibilities.

SPECIAL QUALIFICATIONS

Candidate must be a motivated self-starter. Strong attention to detail, the ability to multitask, and must possess strong communication skills. Demonstrated ability to interact positively, professionally and effectively with guests, internal and external clients, vendors, etc. Heavy customer service experience in fast-paced environment required. Excellent problem resolution skills required. Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

High School diploma or GED and previous guest service experience. (G3) AAS, Hospitality Certifications, loss prevention experience, or public safety experience. (G4)

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instruction, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization. Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to apply commonsense, understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables. Must be able to communicate effectively in person, while on the phone, while using intercom/microphone, and in writing.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines. While performing the duties of the position, the employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts and fumes, tobacco smoke, or airborne particles. The employee is occasionally exposed to risk of electrical shock. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. When on the casino floor, the noise level increases to loud.
