Maine Veterans’ Homes – Scarborough is currently accepting applications for Unit Helpers. By working as a Unit Helper, you will gain an invaluable introduction into the healthcare industry, while providing high-quality care to our Veterans, their spouses, and Gold Star Parents.
MVH – Scarborough will assist you in enrolling in a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) training program with one of their partner organizations, providing flexibility with your work schedule to accommodate your classroom and clinical instruction. Upon successful completion of the program and passing the state exam, you will be transitioned into a CNA role at the home.
Unit Helper duties include making beds, tidying resident rooms, stocking medical supplies, assisting with meal time, and helping transport candidates to scheduled activities in the home. The pay for this position ranges from $15.94 to $18.22 depending on experience.

Experience and Skills
High school diploma or equivalent
Willingness to become CNA certified
