As a Maintenance Tech with UPMC, you will complete basic maintenance work orders from staff and residents including changing light bulbs, unclogging toilets, hanging pictures, troubleshooting minor problems, etc.


Heritage Place is located in Squirrel Hill, we are right on the bus line and close to Oakland!


Responsibilities:


  • Assist contacted BMS staff with performing any HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and carpentry work as needed.
  • Perform basic preventive maintenance work orders from the corporate office.
  • Move residents' furniture and belongings from room to room as requested by the supervisor.
  • Employee may be contacted after hours to handle minor emergencies even if the position is not a 24-hour on-call position.
  • Clean spills and spots on carpeting.
  • Major emergencies should be communicated to Director of Support Services.
  • Maintain log of tests for review of agencies and supervisors.
  • Perform minor painting and patching of room and public area spaces, work above 100SF should be contracted through BMS.
  • Set up apartments with model furniture or resident furniture as directed.
  • Perform work that would change the characteristic of the building or change the quality of the material installed should be brought to the attention of the Director of Facilities and Construction before proceeding.
  • Test the water temperature, emergency, and fire systems regularly as policy dictates.
  • Familiarize self with regulations and codes regarding the facility and notify supervisor of deficiencies.
  • Notify Director of Support Services of items that need to be ordered.

Qualifications:


  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • May, in the course of their duties, be in rooms where medications are stored. No contact with medications is allowed.
  • Commercial Driver License (CDL) preferred.
  • Prior plumbing, electrical, and carpentry experience preferred.
  • Act 34, OAPSA.

Salary: $20.09 - $33.24. Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
