Job Title: Hydrologic Scientist I
Job Description:
This position will serve in the Data Services Section of the Utah Division of Water Rights. Working with the Engineering Manager,this position will be part of a team tasked with developing and managing a statewide water rights related program by reviewing water rights to determine the limits of the right s,the locations they are diverted,how they are conveyed,and the lands that they service. Once these factors are determined team members are expected to verify the findings by meeting with water users in the field.
Principal Duties:
Assist in the development of the Water Right Network.
Evaluate water right documents.
Provide feedback on Water Right Network features and evaluate potential improvements.
Correct previous entries as new data is evaluated.
Coordinate with the Water Right Network team.
Meet with water users to verify current uses.
Coordinate with regional staff and others as needed.
Input water right data into the Water Right Network.
Ideal Candidate:
Working knowledge of Utah water rights,their characteristics,and attributes.
A working knowledge of Division of Water Rights policies and procedures.
A knowledge of research and investigation methods and techniques.
Ability to use logic to analyze or identify underlying principles,reasons,or facts associated with information or data to draw conclusions.
