Aperion Care St Elmo
Aperion Care St Elmo is currently seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Infusion Nurse RN (PRN) to join our dedicated team. As an Infusion Nurse, you will be responsible for providing direct nursing care to our residents and supervising the day-to-day nursing activities performed by nursing assistants. Your role is vital in maintaining the highest degree of quality care in accordance with federal, state, and local standards, guidelines, and regulations.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Direct the day-to-day functions of the nursing assistants.
- Plan the shift's services, programs, and activities in collaboration with assigned nursing staff and support personnel.
- Make written and oral reports/recommendations concerning the activities of the shift as required.
- Admit, transfer, and discharge residents as required.
- Provide leadership to nursing personnel assigned to your unit/shift.
- Complete and file required recordkeeping forms/charts upon the resident's admission, transfer, and/or discharge.
- Receive and transcribe telephone orders from physicians and record on the Physician's Order Form.
- Chart nurse's notes in an informative and descriptive manner.
- Fill out and complete accident/incident reports and submit to the Director.
- Perform routine charting duties as required and in accordance with established policies and procedures.
- Prepare and administer medications as ordered by the physician.
- Develop and maintain a good working rapport with inter-departmental personnel and other departments within the facility.
- Create and maintain a warm, personal, and positive atmosphere throughout the unit and shift.
- Receive and give the nursing report upon reporting in and ending shift duty hours.
- Make rounds with physicians as necessary.
- Administer professional services such as catheterization, tube feedings, suction, applying and changing dressings/bandages, taking blood, giving massages and range of motion exercises, etc.
- Monitor assigned personnel to ensure compliance with safety regulations.
- Maintain confidentiality of resident care information.
- Provide IV and IV site care as needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you must:
- Hold a current unencumbered state license as a Registered Nurse.
- Have the ability to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.
- Be able to make independent decisions when necessary.
- Be knowledgeable of nursing and medical practices and procedures, as well as laws, regulations, and guidelines that pertain to nursing care facilities.
- Hold a current CPR Certification.
- Have experience in Long Term Care (preferred).
Physical Demands
The physical demands of this position include but are not limited to:
- Moving intermittently throughout the workday.
- Coping with the mental and emotional stress of the position.
- Meeting general health requirements set by the facility.
- Ability to push, pull, move, and/or lift a minimum of 25 pounds.
- Assisting in the evacuation of residents during emergency situations.
Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications
