You serve as a laboratory liaison between patients, nursing personnel and house staff. You demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide appropriate individual patient care. STATUS: Full Time LOCATION: Newark and Wayne Counties DEPARTMENT: Phlebotomy SCHEDULE: Monday - Friday 6am - 5:30pm w/ rotating weekends ATTRIBUTES Compassionate, warm and patient focused Exceptional communication skills and professional behavior Detail-oriented RESPONSIBILITIES Patient Care. Provide patient with all necessary information about the procedure; ensure patient is comfortable and safe Blood Collection & Documentation. Collect blood specimens via venipuncture and skin puncture; ensure complete and accurate specimens for testing; prepare specimens for processing and complete any associated paperwork Transportation. Obtain the required specimens/labels and transport to specified area PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: M - Medium Work - Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects; Requires frequent walking, standing or squatting. PAY RANGE: $19.50 - $21.00 The listed base pay range is a good faith representation of current potential base pay for successful applicants. It may be modified in the future. Pay is determined by factors including experience, relevant qualifications, specialty, internal equity, location, and contracts.
