About the Role
Richfield Living is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Full-Time Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) to join our outpatient, skilled nursing, and assisted living centers in Salem, VA. As a PTA, you will be responsible for providing resident-centered physical therapy treatments to facilitate increased independence and functioning. You will work closely with the Physical Therapist (PT) and Director of Rehab to implement individualized treatment plans and collaborate with other members of the rehabilitation team.
Responsibilities
- Implement individualized resident-centered treatment plans established by the primary PT
- Work with the rehabilitation team to develop programs consistent with resident needs and capabilities
- Assist the PT in conducting tests, evaluations, and complex procedures
- Instruct, educate, and train residents and caregivers in the skills and techniques of the OT program under PT supervision
- Observe and communicate changes in the medical conditions of residents to the nursing team
Requirements
- Valid Virginia PTA license with the ability to practice per Virginia guidelines
- Graduate of PTA curriculum accredited by American Physical Therapy Association (APTA)
- Demonstrated organizational and time management skills
- Effective verbal and written communication abilities
- Passion for providing exceptional care to residents
- Experience working within a healthcare community desired
- Experience with Elopement and Emergency Procedures desired
