Description
Phoebe Ministries is seeking a compassionate, caring Major and Planned Gifts Officer with experience in fund raising and non-profit development to join our dedicated and mission-driven Philanthropy team. This position is headquartered in Allentown but serves all Phoebe campuses, with day travel expected.
Responsibilities
• Meet annual revenue target by working with assigned portfolio of donors and prospects to advance the organization’s mission and assist donors in creating meaningful impact.
• Responsible for minimum annual fundraising goal tied to portfolio.
• Must have experience in or the ability to learn the technicalities of gift planning strategies for both current and deferred gift arrangements.
• Identify potential planned giving prospects among assigned donors and make solicitations.
• Develop donor management plan for portfolio resulting in strategic and knowledgeable solicitations.
• Arrange and conduct 10-15 meaningful connections with prospects and donors each month through face-to-face visits, phone calls, or other means that allow for quantifiable movement toward prompting philanthropic support for Phoebe.
• Communicate and collaborate with philanthropy team members to help integrate major gift/planned gift efforts into overall fund development program.
• Implement program/activities to identify, cultivate donors at the $1000 level or higher.
• Research and gather information on prospects to help with relationship building, preparation for next steps, and supporting overall major and planned gift efforts.
• Work closely with the Executive Director of Philanthropy accomplish organizational and department goals and objectives.
• Responsible for assigned special event projects such as utilizing event fundraising to secure sponsorships.
• Foster strong relationships with Phoebe donors, Phoebe employees, and Phoebe volunteers.
• Must have effective communication skills (writing and speaking) to make individual and group presentations to prospective donors and must be a good listener.
• Must have strong interpersonal skills to develop and maintain relationships with internal and external constituents.
• Must be an effective planner and able to manage time and multiple concurrent tasks.
• Must be able to use a personal computer and have a basic skill level competency with word processing, spreadsheets, and other applications.
Requirements
• A bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.
• Minimum three to five years' experience in related positions (fundraising in nonprofit development, event planning, and/or annual giving) preferred.
• Willingness to develop skills in the use of Raiser’s Edge.
• Experience with PGM Anywhere software a plus.
• Ability to work with donor’s professional advisors to appropriately structure and execute plans to ensure the best possible outcomes for the donor and Phoebe Ministries.
