Job Title: Optical Engineerin, Intern D (Wilmington, MA) Job Code: 16765 Job Location: Wilmington, MA Job Schedule: 9/80: Employees work 9 out of every 14 days – totaling 80 hours worked – and have every other Friday off. Job Description: The primary role of this position is to provide optical engineering support on various aerospace programs. These programs utilize imaging systems ranging from UV to LWIR regions of the EM radiation spectrum. Engineering support is in the form of design/analysis and alignment/test of optical systems and components. Essential Functions: Testing of optical systems and components Working with cross-discipline teams to build and utilize optical test sets Strong organizational, written, and verbal skills Performing troubleshooting and requirements verification Optical design, modeling and programming Systems trade studies Qualifications: Pursuing bachelors degree in Optics, Physics, Engineering, Mathematics, or similar field Preferred Additional Skills: Experience in optical design/modeling, systems trade studies, and analysis of remote sensing infrared and visible space qualified systems and components Experience in optical engineering or aerospace industry Knowledge of Code V and/or Zemax software tools Excellent communication, technical writing and presentation skills Knowledge of FRED, MATLAB, Python Exposure to Systems Engineering standards, processes and disciplines In compliance with pay transparency requirements, the salary range for this role is $19.50 MIN - $52.50MAX. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location.
