Description:
Maryland Cremation Services in Millersville, MD, (Anne Arundel County) is seeking a Funeral Director Assistant for a full-time or possibly part-time position.

Duties:
The selected candidate will be trained and called upon to assist the funeral directors and staff in day-to-day office work and management of funeral home operations. Responsibilities include answering telephone calls, maintaining the case filing system, interacting with customers and families, and picking up and filing documents at the Division of Vital Records.

Qualifications:
The ideal candidate should be mature and empathetic, with the ability to communicate well with grieving families. Funeral home experience is preferred. Only candidates serious about the funeral profession will be considered. This position is often considered an entry point into the funeral profession.

Compensation and Benefits:
The competitive starting salary is $16.00 - $18.00 per hour, with 401(k) and health insurance benefits. Additional after-hours earning opportunities are available.

Job Types:
Full-time, Part-time

Requirements:

  • High school or equivalent education
  • 1 year of administrative experience (preferred)
  • 1 year of Microsoft Office experience (required)

Schedule:
8-hour shift, Day shift, Monday to Friday, On call, Overtime, Weekends as needed

Ability to commute/relocate:
Reliable commuting to Millersville, MD or planning to relocate before starting work is required.
