R.A. Shavitz Heating & Air Conditioning, a leading HVAC company in Chicagoland, is seeking a skilled and experienced HVAC Service Technician to join our team in Skokie, Illinois. As an HVAC Service Technician, you will play a vital role in delivering excellent customer service and maintaining our reputation for top-quality workmanship.
Responsibilities:
- Diagnose, repair, and service all types of HVAC systems, including air conditioners, furnaces, boilers, and heat pumps
- Perform preventive maintenance on HVAC systems to ensure optimal performance and extend their lifespan
- Educate customers on proper system maintenance and energy-saving measures
- Communicate effectively and professionally with customers, coworkers, and management
- Accurately document all work performed on HVAC systems
- Continuously improve your knowledge and skills through training and professional development opportunities
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent; HVAC technical training or certification preferred
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in HVAC service and repair
- Strong mechanical and electrical aptitude
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Valid driver's license and clean driving record
- Ability to lift heavy equipment and work in confined spaces
