Lockheed Martin Rotary and Mission Systems is seeking a Summer 2025 Facilities Engineering Intern. In this role, you will support the Sikorsky Facilities Design, Construction and Engineering organization. In this role, you will collaborate with experienced facilities engineers and architecture/engineering firms to develop design criteria and preparing layout and detail drawings for a variety of construction projects. The selected candidate will work closely with site Facilities Engineering team to perform duties such as: Prepare bid sheets and contracts for construction. Review and estimate design costs. Review estimates for construction cost for adherence to design drawings. Inspect or direct the inspection of construction and installation progress to ensure conformance to established drawings, specifications, and schedules. Work independently, under direction, and as a supporting member of the DCE team The successful candidate will have experience and/or knowledge of local building codes, cost estimating, and problem solving. Must be a US Citizen Basic Qualifications: - Pursuing a Bachelors degree in Engineering or related discipline - Strong knowledge of AutoCAD and architectural drafting - Proficient in other computer applications including MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint - Must be a US Citizen Desired Skills: - Knowledge of engineering design and construction - Excellent communication and teamwork skills; enjoys to work as a team player in a creative, fast paced atmosphere - Knowledge in the bidding and review process - Knowledge in project design, specification preparation and review, project scheduling, and some project cost estimating Clearance Level: None Other Important Information You Should Know Expression of Interest: By applying to this job, you are expressing interest in this position and could be considered for other career opportunities where similar skills and requirements have been identified as a match. Ability to Work Remotely: Onsite Full-time: The work associated with this position will be performed onsite at a designated Lockheed Martin facility. Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
