Summary

These positions are either located in the Maryland district or Virginia district. The primary goals of the lifeguard operation are to prevent drowning within the designated lifeguard area, to provide appropriate medical care to ill and injured visitors and to respond appropriately to incidents outside of the lifeguard area. The position serves as a Surf Lifeguard at one of two protected beach units. The purpose of the position is to provide protection to visitors and to the resources.

This job is open to Career transition (CTAP, ICTAP, RPL) Federal employees who meet the definition of a "surplus" or "displaced" employee, the public, U.S. Citizens, Nationals or those who owe allegiance to the U.S.

Duties

• This is an open continuous vacancy announcement. Applicants will be referred periodically throughout the announcement period.
• The incumbent of the Lead Surf Lifeguard position oversees district lifeguard operations and provides direction to staff two days per week or when the head lifeguard is otherwise absent.
