Job Description: Dietary Aide - NHC HealthCare Smithville (Part-Time)
Join our dedicated team at NHC HealthCare Smithville as a Dietary Aide and make a difference in the lives of our residents! We are currently seeking a passionate individual to provide exceptional culinary support in our esteemed facility located in Smithville, Tennessee.
As a Dietary Aide, you will play a vital role in ensuring that our residents receive nourishing meals with personalized attention and care. Your primary responsibility will be to assist in the preparation, portioning, and serving of meals, following prescribed diets and dietary restrictions. You will work closely with our nutritional team to ensure that all meals meet the highest quality standards, both in terms of taste and nutritional value.
Responsibilities:
- Assist with meal preparation, portioning, and serving according to prescribed diets and nutritional guidelines
- Set up dining areas and ensure they are clean and inviting for residents
- Maintain a stock of food, supplies, and equipment, ensuring they are stored safely and in accordance with established guidelines
- Monitor food temperatures during preparation and serving to uphold safety and sanitation standards
- Provide friendly and attentive service to residents, addressing their dietary needs and preferences
- Collaborate with the dietary team to develop and improve meal quality and variety
- Uphold compliance with all regulatory requirements, including proper food handling and storage practices
- Participate in training and educational programs to continuously enhance your skills and knowledge
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Prior experience in a food service or healthcare setting is preferred, but not required
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, with a keen attention to detail
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize tasks effectively
- Knowledge of basic food handling and safety regulations
- Ability to adapt to changing dietary restrictions and special requests
- Must be able to stand, walk, lift, and bend for extended periods
