Activities Assistant- New Albany Care Center

New Albany Care Center is currently seeking an energetic and compassionate Activities Assistant to join our team. As an Activities Assistant, you will play a vital role in enhancing the quality of life for our residents by planning and implementing engaging recreational activities.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Assisting in the development and implementation of a diverse activities program to meet the physical, emotional, and social needs of our residents.
• Organizing and leading group activities such as arts and crafts, games, music and movement, and outings.
• Providing one-on-one support and engagement for residents who may have limited participation in group activities.
• Collaborating with the activities team to create monthly activity calendars and communicate the schedule to residents and staff.
• Maintaining accurate records of resident participation and documenting any behavioral or health changes.
• Assisting with the setup and cleanup of activity areas.
• Creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere that encourages resident involvement and socialization.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Prior experience in a similar role preferred.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
• Passion for working with the elderly and providing person-centered care.
• Flexible schedule, including availability to work weekends and holidays.
