JOB SUMMARY: Responsible for assisting the Show Director in the development and management of all assigned project related aesthetics and show elements. Assists the Design and Production Management team to define and ensure show quality compliance with overall project creative intent. Supervises the performance captains and works with the Show Director on managing the show production team. MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES: The Assistant Show Director leads all the artistic aspects of multiple show productions under the supervision of the Show Director, this includes but is not limited to the overseeing of assigned pre-production, casting, rehearsals, approvals, staging and show maintenance. Participates in the implementation of the creative and technical design process to ensure design intent meets Universal Orlando standards. Responsible for the management and direction of performance captains, dance captains and music coaches assigned to the project. Provides direction to the production team to ensure show-critical creative content is maintained. Participates in selection, training and coaching of team members. Collaboratively creates and maintains all resource materials, associated with their assigned productions including scripts, blocking books, character training and resource materials. Assisting with the writing of performance appraisals/reviews. Understands and actively participates in Environmental, Health & Safety responsibilities by following established UO policy, procedures, training and team member involvement activities. Performs other duties as assigned. SCOPE: Attending production meetings; talent casting; train performance captains & performers; uphold creative intent. EDUCATION: High school degree or GED is required. EXPERIENCE: 1 - 3 years Theme park or live entertainment experience preferably in a show captain or leadership role, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
