Job Title: Food Service Team

Our Food Service Team at Apple Rehab Avon includes the best Dietary aide staff, Cook Supervisors, and Dietary Managers. Join us in making a difference in the lives of others daily. Position: Dietary Aide

Salary: $14-$16 an hour

Responsibilities: - Assisting in the preparation of meals and snacks - Cleaning up dining areas - Receiving, rotating, and storing supplies and food - Serving residents and cleaning work areas - Washing dishes, pans, and utensils - Complying with infection control, safety, and sanitation functions - Maintaining food storage and work areas in a clean and safe manner - Handling food in accordance with sanitary regulations - Reporting safety or sanitation violations to supervisor

Position: Cook Supervisor

Salary: $17-$19 an hour

Responsibilities: - Supervising and monitoring other dietary department personnel - Ensuring department personnel follow established policies and procedures - Contributing to performance evaluations of subordinates with the Dietary Manager - Supervising dietary aide work assignments - Preparing and serving meals for residents based on dietary needs - Working with the Dietary Manager to ensure resident needs are met - Assisting with production planning and recipe development - Assisting with purchase and storage of food and equipment - Ensuring the production of quality, aesthetically pleasing meals within budgetary guidelines - Utilizing kitchen equipment and adaptive equipment for residents' special needs - Responding to residents' requests on short notice - Helping the Dietary Manager plan and prepare for facility's special events

Qualifications:

- Must be able to unload and stock groceries on shelves of various heights, and lift items up to 50 lbs. - Ability to read, write, and understand English, perform simple math calculations, measure and record data - Attention to detail, good follow-through skills, and ability to prioritize multiple tasks - Ability to supervise and instruct others - Previous experience in a hospital or long-term care facility preferred - Demonstrates cooperation in assisting others and ability to work as a team - Ability to remain calm in stressful situations - Patience, tact, enthusiasm, and a positive attitude toward residents and their support networks - Ability to communicate with residents, staff, and family members in a professional manner
