Job Overview
The Respiratory Therapist (RT) provides family-centered care as
demonstrated by recognizing the patient, family and/or designee as a full
partner in providing compassionate and coordinated care based on respect for
patient's preferences, values, and needs. The RT assumes an active role
in clinical education of patients, families, and staff; and functions as
a role model within respiratory and inter-professional teams, fostering open
communication, mutual respect, teamwork, and shared decision-making to achieve

Shift: Variable to include nights, weekends, and holidays
Qualifications
Education: Associate degree in Respiratory Therapy/ Care is required at
the time of hire. Bachelor's degree in preferred.
Experience: Minimum of one (1) year experience delivering respiratory
therapy/care
Certification(s):
Certification as a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) by the National
Board of Respiratory Care (NBRC)
Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers from the American Heart
Association
Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) required within 90 days of hire
Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) for Healthcare Providers from the
American Heart Association required within 90 days of hire if working in
Medical/Surgical and/or Emergency Department
Achievement and maintenance of a National Board for Respiratory Care
(NBRC) credentialed as a Neonatal/Pediatric Respiratory Care Specialist
(RRT-NPS) or Registered Pulmonary Function Technologist (RPFT) if
working in an Ambulatory setting preferred.
Licensure(s): State of Colorado Department of Regulatory Agencies
(DORA) Respiratory Therapist license

POPULATION SPECIFIC CARE
* Neonate - 30 days to 1yr
* Toddlers - >1yr to 3yrs
* Pre-Schoolers - >3yrs to 5yrs
* School age - >5yrs to 13yrs
* Adolescent - >13yrs to 18yrs
* Adult - >18yrs to 65yrs
