Avalon Springs - Nursing Resource Coordinator
Avalon Springs, a leading healthcare facility in Mercer, PA, is currently seeking a full-time Nurse Resource Coordinator to join our amazing nursing team. This role offers flexible hours of 10pm-6:30am from Monday to Friday, with a weekend shift every 10 weeks. About the Role
As a Nurse Resource Coordinator, you will play a vital role in assisting the nursing team in delivering the highest quality of care to our residents. Your responsibilities will include:
- Actively participating in scheduled meetings
- Informing the Director of Nursing and/or Unit Managers of any potential disciplinary issues and resident/family issues during evening, night, and weekend shifts
- Maintaining personal professional competency and clinical skills through continuing education and in-services
- Promoting achievement of organizational goals and objectives through knowledge of goals, assisting in data collection, completing audits, and participating in Quality Assurance and Performance Improvement programs
- Assisting the nursing team in providing resident care when professional nursing skills and judgment are needed, such as transcribing orders, administering medications, and evaluating resident care
- Collaborating with nursing leaders to ensure consistency in the application of policies and procedures for off-shifts
- Ensuring staffing changes are in alignment with the budgeted staffing plan
- Promoting regulatory compliance through a working knowledge of long-term care regulations and participating in efforts towards consistent survey readiness
- Identifying learning needs of staff and participating in educational opportunities
- Providing mentoring and coaching to staff when needed
- Rounding on each nursing unit and responding to issues as needed/requested
- Demonstrating effective communication skills and positive service excellence behaviors when dealing with all customers
- Ensuring the safety of residents, customers, and facility through the application of policies and procedures and emergency responses
- Identifying opportunities for enhancing quality, such as facilitating the use of telemedicine technology
- Completing necessary documentation and submitting within the required time frame
- Demonstrating professional role model behaviors
Requirements
To be considered for this role, you should meet the following qualifications:
- 2 years of nursing experience in a long-term care or acute care setting
- 1 year of experience in a leadership capacity, such as Charge Nurse
- Professional contribution is required, and a BSN is preferred
- Licensure, certifications, and clearances:
- CPR certification required based on AHA standards, including both a didactic and skills demonstration component within 30 days of hire
- Basic Life Support (BLS) or Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification
- Registered Nurse (RN) license
- Act 34 clearance
- OAPSA clearance
