YOUR ROLE The Raw Material Handler-Chemicals ensures the safe offloading and handling of all chemicals throughout the plant including suppling the process areas with raw materials needed for production. Operate a forklift to perform all aspects of raw material loading and unloading from trailers Operate the railcar mover to stage needed railcars Operate the brake system functions of all railcars as needed Perform PLC transfer of chemicals as needed Perform staging and preparation of railcars for offloading following all SOP’s Perform transfer of chemicals from the railcars to the storage tanks following various SOP’s Perform heating of railcars and tankers as needed Monitor and rotate all non-bulk chemicals using FIFO (first in first out) method Monitor all storage tank, bulk tanker, and railcar inventory to ensure chemicals are available for production Complete all necessary paperwork associated with unloading chemicals and shipping chemicals Communicate with the process areas and supply chemicals needed for production Perform sanitization of all lines and pumps referring to the Henkel standards Perform extended time shutdowns as neededOperates forklift, manlifts, rail king and other such equipment to perform job Uses safety equipment such as fall protection harnesses, belts, ropes and breathing safety equipment such as cartridge respirators and air-supplied masks Responsible for ensuring compliance with DOT hazardous shipping requirements YOUR SKILLS / EXPERIENCE High School Diploma or GED required Previous Hazardous material handling experience required 1 – 3 years’ experience in railcar and tanker unloading preferred Must be able to climb ladders and stairs throughout the plant up to 150 ft. and climb in and out of vehicles or machinery several times a day Must pass PFT (pulmonary function test) Must be able to work in all areas of the plant Must be willing to work in weather elements The salary for this role is $24.00 - $39.00. This is the range that we in good faith anticipate relying on when setting wages for this position. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range and this range.
