Activities Assistant, Sherwood Oaks
Description:
As an Activities Assistant at Sherwood Oaks, your purpose will be to assist in conducting therapeutic activity programming and document participation in therapeutic programs. You will also help the Activity Director with volunteer services, gift shop operations, and activity programming. Your responsibilities will include promoting outreach projects, assisting in purchasing supplies, creating weekly activity schedules, and assisting in resident voting registration and absentee ballots efforts.
You will play a vital role in enhancing the quality of life for each resident by developing activities based on their needs, level of functioning, and individual preferences. Additionally, you will participate in planning and attending community outings, volunteer recruitment and retention efforts, and the implementation of the daily fitness program Fit-n-Fun. Observing and adhering to all facility policies and procedures is a must.
Qualifications:
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- 2 years of experience working in a health care setting preferred
- Ability to work independently and be self-motivated while performing job duties
