Job Description Summary
GE Vernova Research is looking for a Solid Oxide fuel cell Lead Specialist with capabilities in SOFC electroplating development and operation, post-processing. You will be support research and development of materials processes for a broad range of projects. You will be responsible for the design, set up and operation of electrical or mechanical systems for energy storage and conversion devices, including high temperature solid oxide fuel cells, electroplating, chemical processing, formulation of functional material compositions, scale-up, material characterization, and system integration and testing.

Job Description
Roles and Responsibilities
You will:
Assist in the SOFC electroplating development and operation, post-processing
Work with researchers to develop methods and build equipment that can perform various tasks relevant to chemical processes in GEVernova projects
Perform basis characterization of chemical materials
Identify key technical issues, develop new processes and iteratively improve system performance through experimentation and process optimization with assistance from scientists and engineers
Independently operate various pieces of laboratory equipment, investigate novel material components and integrated material systems, and utilize basic analytical methods.
Be responsible for the safe and compliant use/operation and disposal of hazardous chemicals and materials
Build relationships with colleagues at GE Global Research with a wide variety of technical expertise and business responsibilities.
Provide experimental data for IP disclosures and patent application processes.
Be a member of a multidisciplinary team developing functional material systems
Required Qualifications
Bachelor or associate degreein Engineering, Electroplating, Material Science, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or related discipline, with 10years’of hands-on industrial experience in SOFC, at least6 year in electroplating process development, post processing
Familiarity with Chemical processing and testing methods
Ability to build and troubleshoot chemical process equipment
Demonstrated ability to learn new areas of research
Ability to work with diverse, high-paced teams
Willing to work government-funded projects

The salary range for this position is $79,400 - $119,000 USD, annually. The specific salary offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors including the candidate’s experience, their education, and the work location. This position is also eligible for a performance bonus. This position will remain posted until at least October 31st, 2024.
