Job Description

Job Title: Lifeguard
Status: PRN
Shift/Hours: Varies, must be available 8:30am - 4:00pm
Salary Range: $15.50

As a Lifeguard at Messiah Lifeways, you will be responsible for overseeing the safety of all residents in and around the pool. You will be expected to understand and orient members to procedures in the event of a medical emergency or fire. Additionally, you will advocate for safety in all areas of the pool and locker rooms, keep the pool area free of clutter and equipment in place, and fold and stock towels on the pool deck and locker rooms to keep them full at all times. You will also be required to maintain confidentiality regarding staff and resident information and work cooperatively and productively with others, including residents, families, and other employees. Other duties include following emergency procedures, responding rapidly and appropriately to emergencies, and following proper Wellness Center policies and procedures to maintain a safe working environment.

Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need the following qualifications:

• Current Lifeguard Certification accepted by the PA Department of Health (preferred)
• Current First Aid/CPR/AED Certification (preferred)
• Experience or training as a lifeguard (preferred)
• Experience with senior-focused wellness programs (preferred)
