Position Overview

As a Housekeeper at Winfield Rest Haven, you will be responsible for maintaining a clean and safe environment for our residents. You will perform a variety of cleaning tasks in public areas, residents' rooms, and offices. The ideal candidate has a strong attention to detail and takes pride in keeping our facility clean and welcoming.


Key Responsibilities

  • Dust and polish all surfaces, including high and horizontal surfaces, furniture, and accessories in public areas and residents' rooms.
  • Spot clean carpets, walls, doors, and other painted surfaces in public areas and residents' rooms.
  • Clean and sanitize public restrooms and residents' bathrooms.
  • Maintain supplies in public restrooms and residents' bathrooms.
  • Follow the Infection Control Policy and Procedures.
  • Dust personal belongings in place, such as picture frames and knick-knacks.
  • Thoroughly clean residents' beds as assigned.
  • Empty and clean trash cans, replace liners.
  • Dry mop, wet mop, and vacuum floors.
  • Complete discharge cleaning as assigned.
  • Comply with Precautions Policy and Procedures.
  • Perform any other duties as assigned.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you should meet the following requirements:

  • Language Ability:
    • Ability to communicate effectively in writing and speaking the primary language of the elders.
    • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Cognitive Demands:
    • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
    • Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
    • Ability to analyze information, problems, situations, practices, and procedures to accomplish defining the problem or objective, identifying relevant factors or concerns, identifying patterns, formulating logical and objective conclusions, and recognizing alternatives and their implications.
  • Competencies:
    • Basic knowledge of federal and state regulations.
    • Excellent oral and written communication skills, as well as exceptional customer service skills.

Physical Demands

  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time.
  • Work normally requires finger dexterity and eye-hand coordination using cleaning equipment.
  • Ability to stoop, kneel, or crouch.
  • Ability to lift up to twenty-five (25) pounds.

Work Environment

  • Works primarily indoors in a climate-controlled setting.
  • Possible exposure to unpleasant odors.
  • Possible exposure to chemicals as identified in the MSDS Manual.
  • Continuous exposure to residents who are ill, confused, irritable, and irrational.
