Job Description

Point Place Healthcare And Rehabilitation Center is currently seeking a dedicated and passionate Activities Leader to join our team. As an Activities Leader, you will be responsible for planning and organizing various recreational and therapeutic activities for our residents.


Responsibilities

  • Create and implement a diverse range of recreational activities that cater to the interests and abilities of our residents.
  • Coordinate and schedule activity programs in accordance with resident preferences and needs.
  • Encourage resident participation in activities through effective communication and motivation.
  • Assist residents with physical and emotional support during activities, ensuring their safety and well-being.
  • Maintain accurate records of resident participation and progress in activities.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to develop and evaluate individualized activity plans for residents.
  • Stay updated on trends and developments in therapeutic recreation to provide innovative and engaging activities.

Requirements

  • Previous experience in a similar role, preferably in a healthcare or senior care setting.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with residents, families, and staff.
  • Ability to plan and organize activities, paying attention to details and resident preferences.
  • Empathy and patience to provide emotional support to residents during activities.
  • Knowledge of recreational therapy techniques and programs.
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
  • Certification in therapeutic recreation or a related field is a plus.
