Associate Customer Set Up Analyst

Description: As an Associate Customer Set Up Analyst you will work closely with internal and external customers to satisfy specific requirements. Assist in the creation of new and maintenance of existing truck rack account data in SAP and in the various terminal automation systems. Provide continuous support to customers and consumers in a prompt, professional, and confidential manner. Escalate issues to a higher level analyst, when necessary, to resolve. Sets up master data, with guidance, by reviewing and analyzing the Customer Data Sheet/salesperson provided specifications for new truck rack customers, exchange partners, and specialty product accounts in SAP system. Assists in maintaining master data changes or deletions to existing customer and carrier accounts as requested by customer, Transportation Company or the salespeople for new loading numbers, load privileges at additional terminal locations, and add or remove loading numbers or carriers. Participates in setting up customer loading data using TopTech, TTalk, PetroNow, Atlas, Alliance software applications used to manage customer’s loading data at proprietary and third party terminal locations. Communicates daily with external customers, carriers, and terminal personnel to investigate and resolve billing discrepancies, loading issues, and master data changes or deletions to customer’s account. Interacts daily with internal contacts; Salespeople, Cash, Credit, Billing, Exchange Accounting, Pricing, Inventory Accounting, Tax Department, and Product Supply & Distribution to investigate and resolve billing discrepancies, loading issues, freight rates, lock outs and reinstate customer accounts, SAP seasonal product updates, incorrect tax on customer’s account, discuss allocation issues and inventory qualities at terminal locations. Guides external customers on how to use the Valero Portal to retrieve more information regarding pricing, invoicing, electronic fund transfer (EFT) notifications, account inquiries. Uses daily error reports sent from accounting to identify and correct errors or inconsistencies in data to ensure continuous processing and invoicing through SAP. Verifies carrier insurance and carrier access agreements for Valero owned terminals. Processes lockouts, unlocks, and inactivations of truck rack customer accounts in SAP, as needed and communicates requests to appropriate terminal locations. Retains detailed electronic records of transactions received from both internal as well as external customers in FileNet in accordance with Sarbanes Oxley requirements. This position is salaried nonexempt status, which means you are eligible for overtime pay. Qualifications: * High School diploma or GED required. * Able and willing to work on-site, in-person at the Valero San Antonio location, required. * Bachelor’s degree in business or related field preferred. * 1 year of customer service experience preferred. * Experience in the petroleum industry preferred. * Experience using SAP and/or Impromptu systems preferred. Position level and salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
