Job Description
CentraCare, a reputable healthcare organization, is currently seeking a dedicated and compassionate Patient Care Associate/Nursing Assistant for the Adult Health Care unit at Rice Memorial Hospital in Willmar, MN.
Position Details
- Full-time, 64 hours every two weeks
- Rotating 8-hour day, evening, and night shifts
- Every other weekend and rotating holidays
Responsibilities
Under the supervision of the Registered Nurse (RN), the Patient Care Associate (PCA) will assist staff nurses in providing quality care to patients. Responsibilities include:
- Critical monitoring, such as vital signs and glucose checks
- Transporting patients to appointments and procedures
- Interacting with patients to promote comfort, compassion, and empathy
- Assisting with activities of daily living (ADLs), such as bathing and toileting
- Managing communication within the patient care area and maintaining patient charts
- Transcribing physicians' orders and completing necessary forms and requisitions
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED, or equivalent work experience
- Ability to read, write, and comprehend medical terminology
- Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) preferred
- Previous experience as a nursing assistant preferred
- Working knowledge of personal care activities and transfer techniques
- Understanding of growth and development processes across all age groups
