Bar Manager Job Description

The Bar Manager at Silver Branch Brewing will curate and effectively manage a diverse inventory of craft beer, wine, cocktails, and non-alcoholic beverages for sale in our taproom and online. This role involves collaborating with General Manager and Executive Management to develop the strategic direction of the beverage program, including installation of draft lines and software platform management. Leading ongoing beverage education for the front-of-house team is also a key responsibility of the Bar Manager.


  • Grow top-line revenue through sales techniques and curating offerings
  • Improve bottom-line profit through reduction of waste and loss
  • Provide weekly analysis on the cost of consumables
  • Maintain beverage inventories and place orders
  • Educate front-of-house team members on Silver Branch beer
  • Develop and batch new cocktails and create weekend specials
  • Manage team to perform weekly draft line cleanings
  • Responsible for maintaining a positive work environment for staff
  • Effective management of difficult situations with fans, employees, etc.
  • Develop work plan for keeping bar tidy and implement cleaning chores

Knowledge, Skills & Qualifications

The ideal candidate should have a minimum of 2 years of combined restaurant, taproom, or hospitality management experience with 1 or more years of full-time bartending experience. Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and competence in technical systems are required, including inventory management software, POS systems, and Microsoft Office products. Certification as a Cicerone® is preferred along with a passion for beer and a willingness to teach others. Physical requirements include the ability to stand for prolonged periods, lift 165lbs, and operate mechanical equipment.
