Qualified Candidates are enrolled in a program to obtain a valid Utah teaching license in the area of Elementary Education or have the credentials needed to obtain licensing upon hire.

We will happily work with a candidate’s education program to meet the requirements for practicum, student teaching, and/or internship hours. Candidates will work with our teacher mentor and participate in our LETRS training program to help support a robust and successful transition into teaching.

Description

Wasatch Peak Academy, a free public charter school, located in North Salt Lake, Utah, is now accepting applications for a Paid Elementary Internship/Student Teaching for the current 2022-2023 school year. Wasatch Peak Academy provides a long history of high academic achievement with advanced classes in first through sixth Grade.

Duties will include working in the classroom alongside experienced teachers, analyzing data and lesson planning to meet the needs of students in small group intervention, playing a lead teacher role during extended teacher absences, attending trainings and professional development with staff members, taking the lead on units of study for classrooms with support from the classroom teacher, and supporting general instruction in the school.
