Job Description:
Lakeland Village Nursing Facility is currently seeking a dynamic and dedicated Speech Pathologist / Audiologist Specialist to join our team at DSHS Lakeland Village. We are a leading nursing facility providing support and services to individuals with developmental and intellectual disabilities in Washington State.
Responsibilities:
- Perform comprehensive evaluations and assessments to diagnose speech, language, swallowing, and hearing disorders.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans to address the unique needs of each patient.
- Provide therapy sessions to improve communication skills, articulation, fluency, voice quality, and swallowing function.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including physicians, nurses, occupational therapists, and physical therapists, to ensure coordinated and integrated care.
- Conduct regular progress evaluations and adjust treatment plans as necessary.
- Educate patients and their families on appropriate communication strategies and techniques.
- Stay updated on the latest research, advancements, and techniques in the field of speech pathology and audiology.
- Adhere to ethical and professional standards in all aspects of patient care and documentation.
Qualifications:
- Master's degree in Speech Pathology or Audiology from an accredited institution.
- Current licensure as a Speech Pathologist or Audiologist in the state of Washington.
- Experience working with individuals with developmental and intellectual disabilities is preferred.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
