Job Overview

We are seeking a highly-skilled and experienced Director of Nursing Services (DON) to join our team. The DON is responsible for overseeing and managing all nursing services, ensuring the delivery of exceptional patient care. As the DON, you will lead a team of dedicated nurses and support staff, promoting a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

Provide strategic leadership and direction to the nursing department.
Develop and implement nursing policies, procedures, and standards in accordance with regulatory requirements.
Ensure compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, and accreditation standards.
Manage and monitor nursing staff, including recruitment, training, and performance evaluation.
Oversee the delivery of care to patients, ensuring optimal outcomes.
Collaborate with other departments to ensure coordinated and integrated patient care.
Manage the department budget and resources effectively.
Participate in quality improvement initiatives and promote a culture of patient safety.
Maintain accurate documentation and effective communication with other healthcare professionals.

Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you should have the following qualifications:

Proven experience as a Director of Nursing Services or in a similar leadership role.
Current state nursing license.
Strong knowledge of nursing principles, practices, and standards.
Excellent leadership and management skills.
Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to make critical decisions and solve problems efficiently.
Experience in long-term care or healthcare facility preferred.
