Hospice Massage Therapist

SERENITY HOSPICE CARE is currently hiring PER DIEM MASSAGE THERAPISTS for the Middlesex & Somerset, NJ areas. SUMMARY Under the direction of the RN Case Manager, provide therapy for medicinal benefits through the manipulation of the soft-tissue and muscles of the body, to relax overworked and tired muscles, and to treat pain that results from any number of ailments. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned as necessary. Be on time for appointments and perform services within the appropriate time allotted for the service Provide consistent professional massage and body treatments in accordance with Hospice protocols and accepted certification practices Effectively inform and educate our patients about specific wellness concerns Be flexible with your schedule, supporting the needs of the patient Uphold the standards of sanitation and sterilization as required Communicate to RN Case Manager or Nurse Supervisor any and all occurrences involving patient issues that require attention Handle patient questions and concerns professionally and courteously Maintain a positive attitude and contribute toward a quality work environment Regularly attend and participate in staff meetings Submit timely and complete documentation as required by Hospice Comply with Company's Core Values and Core Competencies QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. High school diploma or equivalent Some college coursework preferred A minimum of two years of therapeutic massage Experience with geriatric population Ability to work independently as well as with an interdisciplinary group/team Excellent communication and customer service skills Ability to accept different lifestyles, cultures, beliefs, and values Proficiency with computers CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS Must have and maintain in good standing professional license, certificate, or registration, as applicable.
