Job Summary:

Aquent is seeking two Directors of Experience Design to join our Fortune 500 client's team in Bethesda. As a Director of Experience Design, you will collaborate with the Senior Director to drive property design and brand-focused work. Your focus will be on data-driven, best-in-class product design to deliver outstanding digital experiences that support business outcomes and emotional engagement. This role requires a strong portfolio showcasing experience in UX and interaction design for digital solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

• Direct and approve user experience design execution
• Clearly explain design decisions to leadership, team members, and stakeholders
• Identify future opportunities based on design trends, societal shifts, and new technology
• Provide recommendations for experience enhancements across all digital touchpoints
• Collaborate with user experience disciplines within the team to advance work
• Manage multiple tracks of work simultaneously
• Manage one or more direct reports and work with internal associates and external vendors
• Attract, hire, develop, and retain top talent
• Work at both strategic and execution levels, guiding teams accordingly
• Develop relationships with other teams and leverage them to answer questions
• Present work with clarity and confidence, explaining complex matters to others

Requirements:

• 8+ years of relevant experience in digital product design with demonstrated leadership experience
• Strong grounding in general usability and transactional design best practices
• Experience with large-scale websites or global digital apps/digital products
• Experience leading design in visual identity and branding in a digital space
• Experience delivering concepts, user journeys, prototypes, etc., across platforms
• Experience with Agile/SAFE development methodologies
• 4-year undergraduate degree in a relevant discipline or equivalent experience

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with major, large-scale global digital apps, websites, or other digital products within the commerce or travel space
• Superior communication and interpersonal skills

Note:

This role will be on-site at our client's office 3-5 days per week in Bethesda, MD. Candidates must be within a commutable distance of Bethesda, MD to be considered.
