Job Summary

As an Activities Assistant, you will play a key role in organizing and implementing a variety of engaging activities for our residents. You will work closely with the Activities Director to create a vibrant and stimulating environment that promotes socialization, physical well-being, and personal growth.

Responsibilities

• Assist in developing and implementing a calendar of activities tailored to the interests and abilities of our residents
• Organize and lead group activities, such as exercise classes, arts and crafts, games, and outings
• Provide one-on-one engagement and assistance to residents who may require additional support
• Document participation and resident responses for activity evaluation purposes
• Promote a positive, inclusive, and person-centered atmosphere for all residents
• Collaborate with other staff members and departments to ensure activities meet residents' needs and preferences
• Assist in setting up and cleaning up activity areas
• Maintain supplies and equipment necessary for activities in good condition
• Attend meetings, trainings, and in-services as required

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Previous experience working with seniors or in an activities program preferred
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Ability to multitask and prioritize responsibilities
• Creativity and flexibility in promoting resident engagement
• Basic computer skills, including knowledge of Microsoft Office
• Must be able to pass a background check and drug screening
