Reporting to the Chief Development and Mobilization Officer (CDMO), the Director for Development leads the major and planned giving efforts, while also providing thought leadership across the development team. The Director will also manage a portfolio of principal and major gift donors and prospects and engage with donors to invite major gifts and planned gift commitments. The Director will lead the major gifts team and serve in leadership within the department and on the leadership team at Global Refuge, assisting the CDMO in personnel issues and strategic planning initiatives.
This position can be remote with trips to Baltimore as needed.

\ DUTIES
Continue to build a robust major gifts program with aggressive goals for revenue growth, sharing strategy and planning with the CDMO and other department leaders.\ Supervise the major gifts team (philanthropic advisors); oversee the goal setting and metrics for each member of the major gifts team, ensuring metrics are being met on a quarterly and annual basis.\ Manage a portfolio of principal and major gift prospects and donors with a giving capacity of over \$100,000; actively cultivate and solicit major gifts, engaging with the CEO and CDMO on donor visits when needed.\ Oversee the Bernthal Legacy Society and the growth of the planned giving network and steward existing members with events and engagement opportunities.\ Work with the CDMO in the moves management process of their portfolio of donors, as well as prospects and donors who should be engaged by the CEO or volunteers.\ In partnership with program colleagues, create and cultivate resources for major gift proposals and impact reports.\ Monitor, create, and analyze dashboards and reporting in the donor CRM; produce reports as requested.\ Travel to assigned region/territory; conduct local donor visits when possible.\ Engage with congregations and faith communities with potential for major gifts when needed.\ Assist in the writing of gift proposals and make other asks designed to meet budgeted revenue goals, with a strong focus on fundraising for new privately funded programs including international programming, New American Lending, Welcome Centers, and Mental Health.\ Design and apply a custom cultivation strategy to each donor and prospect in their pipeline.\ Coordinate and attend internal strategy meetings to determine and define the areas of greatest fundraising needs.\ Serve on the leadership team within Global Refuge, providing enterprise-wide insights and leadership.\ Demonstrate strong communication in major gift proposals and impact reports, donor materials, and correspondence via email, phone, video, and in person.\ Other duties as assigned.\ QUALIFICATIONS
Undergraduate degree in a relevant field or equivalent work experience.\ Excellent relationship management skills and experience with relationship-based fundra sing.\ Strong oral and written abilities; experience with assisting in the writing of compelling proposals.\ At least 10 years of experience in major gift development or non-profit fundraising.\ 5 years of progressive experience in professional staff management and supervision of staff.\ Experience working alongside communications and marketing colleagues.\ Ability to facilitate work with program staff to synthesize information for proposals and reports.\ Commitment to meeting deadlines.\ Ability to work with complex, evolving issues and quickly develop expertise.\ Knowledge of data management systems; experience with Salesforce preferred.\ Proficiency in Excel, Word, Outlook, Access, and other Microsoft software is essential.\ Ability to work independently, as part of a team, and to \"manage- up\".\ Strong attention to detail.\ Ability to navigate and collaborate with a diverse workforce.\ Ability and willingness to travel when needed up to 30% and work some evenings and weekends.\ Commitment to Global Refuge\'s core mission and values, an ability to model those values in relationships with colleagues and partners, and commitment to empowering refugees and migrants.\ Global Refuge is an equal opportunity employer, and all qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, age, sex, national origin, disability status, ge
