Job Description

The United States Postal Service is seeking a PSE MAIL PROCESSING CLERK for the Martinsburg, WV area. This role offers a competitive wage of $20.05 per hour and is a non-career 360-day term with the possibility of reappointment.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Make sortations of outgoing and/or incoming mail using appropriate sort program or manual distribution scheme.
• Operate automated mail processing equipment, load mail, monitor flow, and clear jams as needed.
• Prepare work area with necessary equipment and materials.
• Sort and distribute mail based on operating plans and dispatch schedules.
• Provide service at public window for non-financial transactions and maintain records of mails.
• Follow established safety procedures and perform other duties as assigned.

PSE Mail Processing Clerks perform physically demanding duties, including moderate to heavy lifting, prolonged standing, and customer service at a service window, selling postal products & services.

Requirements:

• Successfully complete the Virtual Entry Assessment - MP (476).
• Physically able to efficiently perform duties, involving prolonged standing, walking, bending, and reaching.
• Follow Postal Service policies and procedures for personal conduct at work.
• Maintain a neat and professional appearance and pass a pre-employment drug screening.
